Race and Super Bowl XLI

Who cares? Seriously.
Yea, they're both black, first time ever, they made history…
…but that's not what got these coaches here. Great coaching, character, class… that's what got them to the Super Bowl, not the color of their skin.
I'm so sick of sportscasters wasting (air) time talking about the color of Dungy's and Smith's skin — how about we talk about their records? Their careers? Their character?
At least I'm not the only one who thinks so.
And since I'm ranting…
I forgot my name tag for work today so I had to go back to the apartment to get it. It took me (no kidding) a 40 minutes to get across town and back. It would have normally taken me about 15 to twenty minutes. I was stuck behind EVERY IDIOT in Bloomington (not surprising because there are a lot of them).
I wish I had a freakin' air horn in my truck…

yeah you know I thought the same thing about all of the skin color talk. The fact that these two coaches made it to the superbowl definetaly reflects their character more than their skin color. But if you look at the amount of people employed in the NFL as players that are african american as a ratio to white players, and then the ration to african american coaches to white coaches there is a big difference. The fact they these two broke a glass cieling so successfully is not the reason they made it to the superbowl but it is something worth noting.

Yea, but not to the extent that it gets discussed at least once every hour of every day since they won their championship games…
The media is simply pointing out that there is still a metric shit ton of ground to cover in terms of race-integration in this country, and it makes me sad…
