Date the Problem Was Noticed: 10/07/2004

Location of Problem: South West corner of the Main Library Lobby, Coffee Shop

Brief Description of Problem: Broken cappuccino machine, empty fountain drink dispenser, lack of coffee to brew, empty beverage cooler, no food of any desirable kind.

Error Message (type exactly as it appears): "I'm sorry, we're out of everything except bananas. I can give you a cup to fill up at the drinking fountain if you would like." ::points to three-day-over-ripe bananas::

Comments: Why do you staff a coffee shop when the coffee machines are out of service, the fountain drink dispenser is out of syrup and you have nothing to sell but nasty, soft, brown bananas? If I worked at that little hole-in-the-wall (quite literally) I would have called my manager and asked, "We're out of everything, can I go home?" and would have closed up shop. It's just not right to be sitting there, open, doing nothing but telling people that you're out of everything, tempting the ones who need caffeine to get through their shift at work. Bastards…

I can't believe that a week has been by without an entry. I haven't had enough free time to sit down and write about anything lately, so here's the obligatory life update.

Biggest news of the last week: My iMac arrived on Tuesday
You know you all are jealous of my new, styling computer. If you don't know, I recently ordered a 20″ G5 iMac. To read more about it, check out this page. It's possibly the sweetest thing that I've ever had.

In other news, Erin's brother was down this weekend, so we had some fun times with him. I really enjoy hanging out with that kid; he's a riot and just a good guy to talk to. And did I mention that he's entertaining?

Some things that I've been wanting to do lately that I haven't been able to:

• Go Geocaching
• Run around outside with my camera
• Go running around outside with Erin
• Go climbing
  I haven't been to the gym since school started, I'm getting out of practice
• Hang my hang-board
• Kick Will's ass at Halo
  Unlikely, but possible
• Go grocery shopping
  Hopefully tonight
• Call some old friends to catch up on life

To do list for this evening:

• Finish customizing the Mac
• Go grocery shopping
• Do some Cheating homework
• Get through a couple more perl chapters

Not that I'm going to get all of that done, but at least I hope to get some of it done.

So, for those of you who don't know. Mojo and I have a little thing worked out. While he is out in the military, he will be writing me letters addressed to everyone. I'll post them here, then write him back with the comments and such that you make on the entries. I don't have his address yet, but I should as soon as I get the first letter. It's a way for him to keep in touch with everyone while he's occupied with his patriotic duty. So keep watching for these letters.
