:-D Happy Tom :-D It’s

:-D Happy Tom :-D

It's a great feeling to be happy :) .

The last two days have been extremely busy for me (the last two weeks for that matter).

This is the first time I've posted on consecutive days in a long time. Here's what happened to me on Wednesday…

So lunch with Matt went well. We talked about "camp gossip" as usual. Always a good time with Matt and Nathan. Working with Jacob went well too. It got to be workout time and Nick and Beth were late. No fault of their own, Beth just hasn't figured out how to navigate the streets of Bloomington yet. My midterm in "javac java" went really well. It was based on code writing, which I am a master of. Especially the simple stuff that was on the exam. I did get my journal entries done on time as well as the midterm; however, it wasn't last night. It was this morning in Lindley Hall.

Enough about my day. I've decided that I want to take HPER E265 (I think that's the number). It's Intermeidate Sailing :) Since I do a lot of stuff like that over the summer, I should have no problem in the class. There's one lecture all semester, and then the rest of the class is an arranged time to go sailing. I would get credit hours for sailing!! What a perfect class!

I don't really have any good anecdotes for today, but they did re-arrange the hub. It's a little different. Speaking of the hub, I'm going to apply for a CSS position. If you don't know, the CSSs are the intermediate management for STC. They are in charge of watching the consultants and making sure they're doing their job. Their pay is about 9.00 an hour and they get to walk around outside all the time. The CSS position that is opening up is for Marie. She's a business CSS. Not so sure I want to work in the business school, but it's a better job than consulting. I'm up for it.

Anyway, that's the story of my day. Time for Tom to go to bed.

Chaos! (this is the third

Chaos!

(this is the third attempt to post this entry)

But first…
I got commenting working :) yay Tom

Alright, today at work was interesting. There was a power surge in Gresham, the Business School and the Education School. Not only did this cause all the people working on the computers to lose their work, but it also made the CSSs and Consultants panic a bit. While Ronnie (the Business CSS) was on the radio with Tracie (the Sitechk) you could hear in the background the fire alarm going off and business students yelling. This also made Ramsey, the only guy on campus who can fix the projector units, a very busy guy. The surge caused the projectors to stop working in those buildings. After talking to Ronnie, Tracie had messages on top of messages for about 15 minutes. That's all there is about that.

Now for the last couple days…
Monday sucked. All I did was homework and more homework. My dad did come down that afternoon so that he could get his co-worker's car. He took me to Red Lobster where I had crab alfredo…mmmm…. Later that evening, I got to listen to a discussion between a Rabbi, a Christian Preacher, and a Muslim. The title of the discussion was "Can War be Holy?". It was a discusison about the views of each religion on war and violence. It was very well done and interesting. I attended mainly because I needed to for my R170 class. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Tuesday was very busy for me. I had class from 10:10 – 5:15 and then went swimming. At 9:00, we hosted the KKPsi and TBS chapters for the oh-so-embarrasing loss against Illinois. The thing that disapointed me about that was that we invited both chapters, but two sisters showed up. This is the second joint activity that has been planned this semester where a majority of our chapter will attend, but a very small portion of sigma will. Kinda disappointing.

About the basketball team… If we finish at .500 in the conference, we should get a tornament bid. If we win the Big Ten Tournament, we'll get a higher seed in the NCAA. I don't see us making it out of the first round though. I will be at the first round game, and the rest of the tournament games we play, with the pep band :) .

My schedule today…
8-12, work, 12:30,lunch, 4, helping jacob with spanish, 5:30, working out at the SRSC, 7, Midterm exam. Somewhere in there I have to write a Midterm and a few Journam Entries for R170. Whatever…

Quote of the day
"There's no need
To ask directions
If you ever lose your mind
We're behind you
We're behind you
And let us please remind you
We can send a car to find you
If you ever lose your way" — Cake from Comfort Eagle (the CD that is currently in my CD player)

Stoopid Snow! Stoopid Math! Stoopid

Stoopid Snow! Stoopid Math! Stoopid Apache! Stoopid Graveyard!

If you couldn't tell, this blog entry is going to contain a lot of complaining. I didn't have a good week this week, so here goes the rant…

First of all, WHY THE HELL DID WE GET SO MUCH SNOW?!? Does it look like we live in Minnesota?!? This weather is insane! The usual high right now is in the low 40s…We're going to have a hard time breaking 40 this week… PLUS we have not 1″, not 2″, not 3″, but 5″ of snow on the ground and it's still falling. I really hope that I can find my car after I get off work! GAH! Stoopid Groundhog! Making us have more winter than we would EVER want!

ok, I promise, no more ranting about the weather today.

My math exam consisted of six questions, each one having around five or six parts to it. Well, the first four and a half questions were simple. The second half of the fifth one and all of the sixth one….yea….Tom blanked out and couldn't remember how to do the problems. It took me the whole hour to "finish" the exam. Oh well though, everyone does that every once in a while. Stoopid Probability! I don't know why I'm taking the Math statistics class….I should have taken it through Psychology or some other not-so-focused-on-numbers school. I'm sure I'll do alright in the class, I just need to spend more time on the math.

For those of you who don't know what Apache is (which I'm assuming is most of you), here's the short definition. Apache is an open source web server application. It allows a computer to act as a web server. More specifically, Apache comes from "A PAtCHy server". It was derived from some existing code as well as a group of patch files. Well, my Apache software somehow lost some of its files. I don't have any idea how this happened, but it did. All of the files in my /etc/httpd directory had disappeared (that is the Apache program directory) so the server wouldn't start when I asked it to. This took me three days or so to fix. But, now it's working just fine. Stoopid /etc/httpd/config.d directory! It's the main thing that was missing from my Apache.

That brings me to my graveyard. It is now 5:00 am and I have had a whopping 7 customer contacts. Granted, this is more than I usually have during a graveyard shift (which also means that I didn't get to watch An Evening With Kevin Smith – Silent Bob Speaks), but it's still a small number compared to a usual day at work. I was really looking forward to watching that DVD because I have heard some good things about it. Three more hours and I get to sleep for the first time since 9:00 am yesterday.

Ryan, Neil, Michael and I went to see The Life of David Gayle last night. If you are a Kevin Spacey fan, I highly recommend going to see this movie. It was freakin' awesome! Even if you aren't a Kevin Spacey fan, you will be quite captivated by this film. It will blow your mind. On our way out of the movie, the roads were so slippery that my beast of a car was having a hard time in places; although, the snow did make for a pretty drive back to the house. (I said I wasn't going to complain about the weather anymore, so I had to create some goodwill with the sentence;) ).

Today, I had to play at the women's basketball game. No, I wasn't playing basketball, I was playing trumpet. I'm so glad that this was my last women's game to play at. I really didn't want to take three hours out of my afternoon to play at the game. I could have been doing math homework and finishing my laundry so that it wouldn't still be in the dryer as I sit here and type. /*random sidenote*/ I did 5 loads of laundry today! FIVE!! Two of which were my sheets since I hadn't washed them since before winter break… /*end random sidenote*/

I'm sure you all are getting tired of reading this, so I'm going to leave you with one final idea.

STOOPID NORAH JONES!!

She did not deserve as many awards as she won last night on the Grammies.

PS — I'm trying to figure out a way to allow the people who read my blog to post comments. If you know how I can do this with Blogger's software, let me know. Or, if you know of a serverside piece of software that will do it, drop me an e-mail as well. My e-mail is tlmason@indiana.edu.

Tom Took an Online Quiz.

Tom Took an Online Quiz.

This will be the only time that I do this. I got the URL to this quiz in an e-mail from a friend and the results ended up being the operating system that I use primarily.

Which OS are You?
Which OS are You?

Well, there ya have it. I'm Red Hat Linux. Kinda ironic huh?

Anyway, this is the first time I've posted in consecutive days in a long time…..yep…..a long time. Yesterday was pretty boring. Dustin and I talked about the data structure, then I did some studying for my math exam that is today. I woke up late….so I missed my first class today. But I'm not too worried. It's entitled "Religion, Ethics and Public Life". The first quiz in there was quite simple.

This morning I've been doing some last minute studying for the exam. As for the rest of the day…here it is:
–Go to W231 (Technical Writing), the class where the professor didn't show up on Thursday.
–Go swimming for a while at the SRSC.
–Drop some stuff off at the Dept'o
–Take the dreaded statistics and probaility exam…hehe
–Javac Java…
–Wind Ensemble Concert tonight at the MAC.

That's about it. Sometime in there, I'm going to be doing some more math homework. We had our first joint meeting last night for KKPsi and TBS. It went ok. Devon and I can't rap our gavels together, but whatever, we have three more meetings to get it right. She and I joked that we should have a gavel beating practice….haha

Anyway, gotta get going to class. Busy day for Tom.

I won't forget you"

Graveyard Boredom Imagine that, me

Graveyard Boredom

Imagine that, me being bored during a graveyard shift. I've been busy though. I made some changes to my webpage, played around with photoshop a bit, and watched Death to Smoochie, finally. My roomates have been after me to watch it for a long time. It's a pretty good movie, very dark comedy. Kudos to Robin Williams and Edward Norton for a movie well done.

Here's my photoshopped image.

That's the recap of my night. Now for the recap of my past week…

Nothing really too eventful happened. Went to Olive Garden and watched Chicago on Valentine's Day. Watched IU lose again to Wisconsin on Saturday. Sunday, the usual relaxation and Warcraft III until I had to go to work. Beth bought me dinner at Foster on meal points. I love having frinds with excess points, it's great. We (being me and my roomates) need to go grocrey shopping TODAY!

Anyway, later today, Beth (yes Lindz, Beth and I are just friends, get over it! ;) ) and I are going to go hit the SRSC. She convinced me to change my workout schedule this week, making it MWF — lifting/dry land working out, TRS — Swimming. Silly Beth. I'm going to be all confused when next week comes around. She promised that we could get back on the normal schedule next week.

I have a math exam this Tuesday that I'm going to need to study for later today and then I'm done with midterms. Wednesday at work, I will be working on my Java homework, and a new look for my blog. Yes, I'm tackling the large project of coming up with a new, attractive, yet functional blog page. Matt isn't in town this week, so Nathan and I are having lunch. His treat :) Camp contracts go out today, so I should know by the end of the week what I'm doing this summer.

That's all I have for now.
