Wednesday….what a beautiful day. —-Yesterday—-

Wednesday….what a beautiful day.

—-Yesterday—-

Tuesday. I went to class….and work….and class….that's about it. not a very interesting day….took a nap….whatever.

—-Today—-

Wow, if I didn't have math today I would probably not have gone to class and spent all day at the Disc Golf courses in town. Today was wonderful. Since I can miss the days of class, I didn't go to I101 or to Winnie the Pooh. Instead, I went to Karst Farm at 1:00 and played 18 holes of disc golf, alone. It was a lot of fun. I was basically working on technique. I shot a -2 for the day at that course. When I got back and finished my lunch, Neil asked if I wanted to go try out the other course in town over at Crestmont. So me, not being able to turn anything down, said yes. Before I tell you about the course, I shot a +3. That's pretty good for me. The -2 was definitely a highlight though. The course at Crestmont was a woods course. Very rugged and hilly. The baskets they've put in are quite new and the tees are kinda crappy, but I thought it was a good course overall. It's a lot smaller than Karst Farm, but it's got a charm all it's own. It's a woods course. I generally shoot better on a wooded course than a wide open course. Whatever though, to each his own.

I started my swimming workout today rather than yesterday because I really didn't have time yesterday. I swam about a mile and a half in 45 minutes. I was happy with myself for that one. After I was done swimming, I went to Read to meet Erin for dinner. She agreed to buy me McD because she has many many meal points. Anyway, I get there 10 minutes early and walk into the center lounge and they're giving out flu shots. So I get one, hoping it will keep me from getting sick over the winter months because I will be running myself quite thin and will be suceptable to illness. Whatever, the jist of my story is that I got a flu shot while I was waiting for Erin. yea, good story, I know….

anyway, I'm here at work now, and that's about all I've got for today.

Quote of the day – "I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad. The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had." — Gary Jules, "Mad World" from Donnie Darko the movie. My favorite song at the moment because it says so much. You should give it a listen.

It’s Tuesday….yet another extremely long

It's Tuesday….yet another extremely long day to add to Tom's Days of No Sleep…

Well, I haven't said anything since last Thursday with good reason. Friday was full of me running around and running errands. It was one of the more insane days I've had yet this semester. Saturday was a day straight from Hades…all 24+ hours of it. Sunday I thought I would be able to catch up on sleep, but no…..I had to wake up at 7 and not be able to fall asleep until after the marathon election meeting on monday.

Here's how my Sunmonday went. I did my homework Sunday evening and ended up not getting any sleep before my graveyard because I had way too much coffee to drink at Stephen's while doing Dr. Dre's (The German) homework assignment.

So I go to work

The graveyard is the usual….help a couple customers, watch a movie, re-start all the macs. The movie I watched was a bootleg Harry Potter 2. Now, to keep the interesting day going, the method in which I had to watch the movie was pretty crackheadded. It was in two parts on the server. The first part played fine, but lost the audio for about 30 sec. toward the end of the file.

The second part…..hahahahaha
I double clicked on the file and heard the audio but saw only the Windows Media Player visualization. So I try to open the file in Quicktime and Real Player on the PC….no luck. So I think…."hm… Macs are better at AV stuff than PCs." and take a copy of the file, throw it on the Mac, and open it with the Mac version of Quicktime….no audio….video, but no audio…. I continue to try multiple macintosh players, but none of them like the file. I bet you can see where this story is going now….haha. Yea, copy on the PC, copy on the Mac, a little synchronized clickin with the mice….bingity bangity, Harry Potter 2, part 2 :) Now, yes, the PC in true Windows form had a brain fart and threw the audio a second out of sync about halfway through, but Sync-masta T brought everything back into perfect synchronization :)

That was most of my Monday entertainment right there….Classes sucked. We have a Dr. Dre (that's what I'm goign to call The German from now on) exam on Wednesday, so we spent most of class reviewing….fun times let me tell you…..I101 was as boring as always. we were figuring out what amount of time packets take to transfer over a network….*yawn*

I do have to admit in Dr. Dre's class, Erin and I had one of the coolest convos ever. Here's the transcript of the funny part. I am firecrafter695 and she is TayngoMaureen.

firecrafter695: I'll put you in my coke can….
TayngoMaureen: …
TayngoMaureen: that could be dangerous.
TayngoMaureen: what if you forget i'm there?
firecrafter695: eh, it won't be too bad, there's liquid and air ….I'll throw you an occasional oreo for sustenance…
firecrafter695: hehe
TayngoMaureen: dude, how large *is* this coke can?
TayngoMaureen: or am i shrinking to thumbelina size for this experiment?
firecrafter695: yep. get ready to get coke-canned tinkerbell :-)

oh the joys of math class…

Uniform turn-in went really well yesterday during hundred time. I was the name card fairy. I handed the name cards to the people in line as they walked in front of me :) . woo…

KKPsi elections went shorter than I expected them to. I did get elected president for 2003 and I'm really excited to start working with the new exec council. They're going to be a good crew to get things done. Props to the PMs that stayed for the entire elections (Kirsten and Beckey). Kirsten was the only one I talked to, but her reason for staying was awesome. I'm glad there are people coming into our chapter who genuinely care about its operation and welfare.

Well, today starts my swimming workout, so wish me luck. I need to come across some goggles still, before I go to the SRSC this evening.

Anyway, my shift is about over and I haven't read fark.com yet, so I'm off to get some highly stimulating reading done.

Thursday…finally My week offically ends

Thursday…finally

My week offically ends with Thursday. Granted, I have two discussion sections tomorrow, but one is for the German and the other is for I101….the easiest class on the face of the earth.

Anyway, Wednesday was as normal as days get. I ended up taking a personal day from class. I needed to catch up on lost sleep and get a lot of homework done. So no interesting stories about the German and Winnie the Pooh today, rather some insights on life…..RIIIGHT….hehe

I did go to some music shops and bought a couple albums. Pet Sounds by the Beach Boy's The Best of Bowie and The Yellow Submarine (the 1999 remasters) . After listening to the Yellow Submarine album, I am 1000% in favor of remastering the entire Beatle's catalouge. The sound is amazing. It's a work of art in itself. You can hear things that you just can't in the original masters.

The Bowie is awesome too, I'm listening to it right now.

Pet Sounds….Both Mono and Stereo. the first 13 tracks are mono, and the next 14 are the same tracks in stereo along with a bonus track. yet another awesome album. I really wish I had a lot of extra money so I can build up my cd collection to include all of the artists that I enjoy and a good selection of rock from the ages….a history of rock if you will.

I plan to start a swimming workout next week (as soon as I go get some decent goggles). It's going to be pretty rigorus, but it's intended to keep me in shape so I'm not a total loser come summer when I'm expected to be "super aquatics man". hehe..

Well, I think that's all I have for now. so I'll leave another post tomorrow summarizing my day today.

Quote of the day – "Oh Tommy Boy, Oh Tommy Boy. You're really fun to talk to. Oh Tommy Boy Oh Tommy Boy. We like it when you're funny." — Shelley after going out to the bars and having a little too much to drink…hehe love ya Shelley :)

Wednesday….ugh…. This week seems like

Wednesday….ugh….

This week seems like it is going on forever…it was Monday…THREE WEEKS AGO!

Tuesday was long, but good. I didn't wake up till 11:00 (yea for classes that don't start till 1). I went to the Depto at noon to meet Dave to sign his paddle and while Dave and I are talking about going somewhere to eat lunch (dave's treat — gotta love mealpoints) Angela shows up. So we all went to McDonalds, that was the start of my day.

Speech class went well. I didn't do any of the reading, but it was easy enough material that I was able to fake my way through class. yea fun.

Hundred was freezing. that's all I have to say about that.

Beatles class. I have a little ranting to do here. The class itself went really well and was great as always. I did notice that the talking and rustling of papers is getting a little out of hand, but that's normal, I guess. It's a class of 300, there's going to be noise. But what really pissed me off was the guy sitting next to me. He seemed to think that since he is overweight, he had every right to take up two chairs of space. He had his arms all over my arm rests. His legs were so fat that they took up half my leg room too. God, I just wanted to take the aspirator at the funeral home and suck out half of his being so I could sit comfortably. I swear, if he sits next to me again, I'm going to have to kill him….not really, just saying that….

That's about it. interesting day, I know. I'm sure none of you care, but I'm still going to post anyway.

“…Tuesday’s gray…” First for all

"…Tuesday's gray…"

First for all of you music buffs, what artist and song is that line from?

Monday was good. I got so much more sleep than normal monday night that I was full of life, if you will. I was bouncing off the walls in hundred and then later at the Psi meeting. The only class I went to today was for The German because we had a quiz and homework was due….just like every Monday. I skipped 101 and Whinnie the Pooh because I need to finish a paper and write another one. Finishing one for Pooh and writing one for Public speaking.

I had an appointment for public speaking yesterday. My AI and I went through my ceremonial speech. I did a eulogy delivered for a fictious friend named marcus. I got straight SAs (Strongly Agree) on my evaluation and a perfect 60 of 60. I guess 4 years of working in a funeral home paid off….:) Go Me. I'm a eulogy deliverin fool! even for fake people that have never and will never exist(ed).

wow that sentence was on it's way down the toilet….good thing I stopped it when I did.

Here's Tom's funny story of the night. Everybody go get some popcorn and coke and meet me back here in 5 minutes….

5 minutes later…

alright, so I'm working in Lindley Hall. For those of you who don't know, Lindley is the HUB (the center of activity). There are two labs full of Windows machines and one lab of Macs. along with the Input Output center where the consultants sit. well, Mike (a consultant) comes back into the I/O and says "Go look in the Mac lab…." so we're all thinking, "ok, it's either full or completely empty. I walk in there and look around the corner and see this guy sitting at his mac. Now, it's not ust a normal guy. He's sitting at his computer station with his jacket up over his head, and up and over the computer monitor. Aparently he's hiding something that's on his screen. He's probably got his own crackedout orgy going on under that coat with his friends, porn star 1 and porn star 2 and their co-stars – Rosy Palm and her 5 sisters….hahahaha, I crack myself up…

Today at Hundred rehersal….

Another amusing story. If any of you know Smedley, the Trumpet AI, you will find this especially entertaining.
Smedley, at rehersal, pulls out his comb and starts to comb his hair. All the guys notice right away that the comb is bright pink, so we start heckling him about it. I finally shout out, "Hey Smeds, where's your Barbie comb?" and he replies in a quite lispy voice, "Stop making fun of me guys." Freakin hilarious. at the end of rehersal, my wonderful son, Chris, raises his hand during the announcements section and says "Smedley has a pink comb," to which Colonel replies "and on that note, we'll leave." fun times.

Anyway, that's about all the interesting things I've encountered today. Pretty boring day, I know.
