101 Goals
While I was browsing through some RSS feeds, I stumbled upon a post called "101 Goals in 1001 Days" and thought I would give it a try.
The rules for the 101 Goals in 1001 Days are:
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria: Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).
Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past — frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
Goal Setting Tips
1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it.
2. Stay focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.3. Welcome failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.
4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.
5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking.

How about a goal like this — visit your little sister periodically AND set a time frame for visiting or telephoning your mom and dad? Would LOVE that. TaDa!

Good call. There are a lot of things that I just can’t remember, or I think of them while I’m somewhere away from a computer and/or without notebook (i.e. playing disc golf).

I think its great that you want to get a trad/sport rack. Talk to me before you do it though, because we could just combine into one SUPER burly rack. Let me know what you think!

When i started reading this i skipped over the rules to get to the goals to see what kinda stuff was on here. I didn’t really think about how long 1001 days was until i got to the goals that say “per year” or “each year”. This is a good idea. Just one more reason to add to the ‘why i want to restart my blog’. =o) Good Luck, Tom!

This is a good idea to putting a list of goals and executing those…I think, most of the goals are very small in size and thinking…and very self centric. If you would not complete then you may be frustrated. What I would suggest that enjoy a each day as it comes and committed yourself for big goals and thinking, you could enjoy a lot…This is just my own view and experience…DON’T Discouraged.
